Katia Mattos DMD
Dr. Katia Mattos was born in Cuba and immigrated to Miami as a child. After graduating at the top 1% percent of her class, she was awarded a full scholarship to attend Florida International University. Dr. Mattos completed a Bachelor of Science with honors in biology. Upon graduation, she was accepted to the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, where she completed her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree and graduated with honors in endodontics. During her time at Harvard, she was also awarded the James N. Snitzler Scholarship for Academic distinction. She had the opportunity to participate in research, which was published in the Journal of the American Dental Association.
After Boston, Dr. Mattos moved to New York to attend the postgraduate endodontics program at the Columbia University College of Dental Medicine. She also worked as an associate clinical instructor and mentored predoctoral students in endodontics during her time there.
Dr. Mattos joined a select group of endodontists when she attained the highest honor in the profession, becoming a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontists. She is a member of the American Association of Endodontists, the College of Diplomates, the American Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association, and the South Florida District Dental Association.
Dr. Mattos is excited to be back in South Florida close to her family and friends. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, listening to music, exploring new restaurants, watching “Friends” reruns, and spending time with her family and friends.
